Hey Fellaz,

Sorry for the Vauge title...just some scattered questions...

I pulled my Plug wires off yesterday and they are covered in oil...now they arent MOTORCRAFT wires so im think maybe the seal isnt good enuff and it leaked in....but if not where is it coming from....SO...Im pullin out the plugs tomorrow to see if they're even good anymore.....What plugs can i use as an upgrade to the MOTORCRAFTs??

Also, the manifold has to come off to get to the plugs(i heard)?Sounds about right, theres not even enuff room to get my hand back there...Was thinkin about painting it while it was off....Could someone send me a link or help me out with this i would appreciate it greatly...I read the sticky on here aboutit but its still kinda confusing...Steps??Thanks...dont wanna ruin my manifold, ya know..:hail: :salute:

Finally, I installed a Cold air intake kit from Pep Boys..>Fits Perfectly,....Only problem is to grab any kind of fresh air I figured Id remove the Corner lamp....It works, and its legal(cause the blinkers in the front lamp also), but its ugly as sin....anyone got any suggestions beside the Mesh grille look??:oogle:

Thanks in advance....

The reason there is oil coating your plugs is because the plug well seals are bad and need replaced. http://www.shobrosgarage.com/product_info.php?cPath=156_163&products_id=50 Thats a link for the new gaskets to solve this issue. All you need to do is pull the intake and remove the valve covers.

Here is a step by step link to removing the intake manifold. http://www.shophoenixproject.com/upper60k/upper60k.htm

EDIT: When you remove your intake, chances are your intake gaskets will need replacing. http://www.shobrosgarage.com/product_info.php?cPath=156_163&products_id=45 There is the link to a new set. :)

you do NOT need to remove the intake manifold to get to the spark plugs, but you will have to remove it to get the valve covers off to replace the valve cover gaskets and plug well seals. IMHO the stock intake is far superior to any kind of cold air intake pep boys could offer. the stock design IS a cold air intake. remove your outer airbox and open the fender opening a little.

Thanks for the quick response.....

Sounds like that might be the problem...anything else it could be?...Im either burning or leaking oil somewhere and it seems to be collecting there.....the plug wires arent OEM and the seal between them and the VCs isnt "snug"....i guess ill just go and investigate..lol....

As for the intake setup...it actually added 7 HP to the car, believe it or not...and by taking out the lamp it helps it to always keep fresh/cold air circulating @ high speeds....I kept the piece that is between the fender and engine bay that routes the air so its sucking it from the corner lamp hole and shooting it right into the filter....even my mechanic said it was a good install...it makes the motor sound alot deeper too....I really dont like the look of those Boxs in there...Ill put some engine pics up tomorrow when ive got some light....

again...thanks:nut: :nut:

As for the pics of the intake, i cant get them to post here...if youd loike yto see it(nothing special guys...lol)...pm me and ill sent it your way....Its a good setup but without the corner lamp it looks like a P.O.S.....maybe ill just blow out the lens and use the socket hole to feed the box in the fender....ahhhh....open the holes up a lil with a saw or file and paint it once im done...Rally inspired intake....lol...too ricey???

So after this message was typed, i Ran outside, grabbed my corner lamp out of the garage and went to work on it...lol....Baked it, got the lens off, cleaned it, and painted the housing with Ford Silver YN Dupli-color Color matched auto Paint......Remember, no lamps are going there....im using the holes for an air supply to the inner wheel well.....so i dont need high heat paint....

It came out pretty good....Better than staring into the wheel well.....Color matches and now i think im gonna build it up using mesh grille and weatherstripping to make it flush.....

Also while i had all the paint out and was in my Element, i figured id take care of the Yellow Reflector on the other side.....So i Painted that aswell...Color doesnt Really match but i was going for a custom look and i got it...

Im tryng to post pics but i cant get them to attatch(too big) or cut and paste....hmmmmm???

Thanks...

Heres the pic of the Corner Lamp missing...I never liked the look but its feeding alot of air in to the motor...( i ran the car with a bad fan motor and @ 60 it would cool itself off)...

Heres the Corner lamp Housing, Rally inspired Intake....hmmm....

M 20afddfd7c43f43c8cc73062d552fd4e

Heres the intake setup....60 degree bend...2 couplers...stock MAF....NO SCREEN.....Spectre Cone.....Spectre Brackets.....Notice how its lined up nicely with the Inner Fender Feed.....I wanna cut that out bigger but i dont know if it'll even help...or just make the car a lil more fragile....lol

NEXT is the HEAT SHIELD....any suggestions??

Heres a Shot of the car, but in it you can see the STOCK Corner lamp...yellow....annoying....

After Paint...

Nothing special...just puttin it up if anyone cares...like i said b4.....I think im gonna continue on the Corner Lamp housing with some Mesh grille work and some weatherstripping to really make it look official....Lemme know what ur thinkin....
