well theres a 91 ford sho 5-speed for sale locally w/66K miles for $1,200
the seller's the dad whos selling it in place of his son-in-law whos in the navy now.
he said it wasn driven much since last winter, but the only thing recently changed that was to be noted was the clutch was replaced, but he said the shop that did it didnt do a good job and its leaking tranny fluid a bit, he said prolly at the axles.
how much is that to get re-repaired? he said the car has no rust spots underneath since it originally came from down south so it has not seen alot of road salt. he also said the clear coats going but i dont care much on that. the seller said there was no need to do any maintenance since the car only has 66K miles on it(ie-intake manifold gaskets, headgasket, etc).
just need some input as well as advice and pointers b4 i make the trip down and taking a look as well as test driving it if its worth the travel. im going to use it as a DD.

If I were you I would verify the milage with the carfax offer you just got. If it checks out as 66k, the maintenance will be almost nill.

I think you will find out that it's actually 166K. If not...snag that puppy up!

WIth 66k you'll definitely need to do t-belt, water pump, CPS, valve adust, spark plugs, valve and plug gaskets, wires, fuel filter, etc. IF you do buy it, go to the PA SHO guys to get all the maintenence done by someone who knows these cars.
With such low mileage and no rust, that is a very good buy. They probably put a stock clutch in it which is good for a DD, but don't get on it or it will go bye bye. You will also expect around 30 mpg hwy with after the 60k is done.

if i get it the only parts i may be uncertain about is the timing belt, location and access of waterpump, cps and the valve adjustment.

What color is the car? It wouldn't matter to me if it had 66k or 166k, it would just be that much better opf a deal if it was only 66k! I would definitely snap it up for $1200. The cv shafts are not a big deal, and like everyone says, just plan on doing a 60k.
