As some must might know i recently spun a rod bearing in my 3.0 which now gives me a reason to swap in my 3.2. My question is should i go ahead and pull the cams out and everything to do valve stem seals. Ill give you a little background on the motor. Its been sitting for 2 1/2 - 3 years..2 or 2 1/2 of those years inside a building outside of the elements. the onther 6 months or so it has been covered up outside in a car port. The motor has a new timing belt, new cam seals, new rb, new mb, new oil pump and 3.0 cams. cams being installed by mark nunnaly the PO. I am aware of the ATF treatment but to my understanding the valve stem seals like to get brittle after sitting for awhile and i am not sure if they could be saved or might not give me problems.

If Mark installed the cams, Id bet there were new valve stem seals installed at that time.

It's not a whole lot harder to do valve stem seals with the engine in the car. I'd say run whatcha brung. If the valve stem seals are leaking, you can address them later.

You can always do them in the car as others stated. A little bit more annoying, but they may be fine. Sounds like all that motor needs is to be put into a car and run. I'm sure if all else were done water pump and cps were done too. If not, do that with the motor out; it's easier.

LoL.... I like the "if he installed cams he did valve seals" comment.. Unless the valve covers were off the block, or the plugs were pulled out.. then maybe they dried out.. but if they were new they should be fine... I don't think you want that valve stem seal job...
