Need Help.

Can someone can give me some information on a problem with a '91 SHO Taurus. This is what's been done:

Crank shaft sensor has been changed, timing belt was backwards and has been fixed, crank shaft position switch is above the crank pulley and gap is .030 with a feeler gage.

car wants to crank over but soemthing is causing it not to fire. all spark plug wires are in order. I'm thinking it's the computer module. Is there a way to test for this?

When I got the car it didn't want to start. I got it to turn over but it was backfring, so I re-did timing. The car wants to turn over, but nothing is happening.

Loosing mind....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have voltage at your DIS Module or at the coil pack?? Take a test light and prob on the DIS Module and the coil pack there is connecter with a Red wire with a thin green tracer on it you should have voltage if not make sure all of your connections like under your throttle body are hooked up correctly and lastly check your PCM module it's on the driver side on top of the radiator covered by the plastic cover

are you referring to the DIS module on the passenger side of the intake? you can remove it and autozone will test it for free

I'm saying that the module might be good but If he has no voltage going to it, it doesn't matter if it's brand new it won't work I'm telling him to check to see if he has power going to the DIS Module I don't care if there is power comming out of it that's step #2

Yeah thats what I had to do when I had his problem I had no voltage anywhere and I probed wires for 6 days until I saw that my "friend" had hooked up 4 connectors wrong and when I fixed them I had power and the car fired right up

Is the ground strap installed on the top, rear, passenger side bolt on the intake mounting bracket? Are you seeing the tach move to about 300-400 rpm as the starter is cranking? If not, the CPS is not providing a signal. Is the coil pack connector plugged in to the coil pack? Are the plug wires installed as shown below?

if it is causing it to back fire you have your wires mixed check the chart above that should help
