O.k. I have fixed everything on my new 92. water pump, and steering rack well that was it.

Now I can not figure out this off idle stumble/hesitation and sometimes mild backfire. It happens when I accelerate from a complete stop, but after I get going it is fine, smooth sailing.

It is almost as if the plug holes had water or oil in them. But they do not. I have done the following.

Checked the timing. > O.K.
Changed the plugs and wires Double platinums and proper wires
changed the CPS
changed the DIS
changed the MAS-MAF whatever
The DIS is properly grounded as is the crossover.

What else could it be? It is annoying as ****. Driving me crazy! Driving me to drink! (not really complaining about the drinking, it is Friday after all.)

PLEASE HELP!!

have you made sure the plug wires are in the correct order? This is a common mistake and easy to overlook

I did and they are. The problem was evident when I bought the car, and I figured it was a bad valve cover plug well seal or water in one of the plug wells, but to my surprise they were clean and dry. So I replaced the plugs, and wires and everything else I listed.

I am wondering if it sounds like a coil?

I had that problem in two SHO's, until I changed the fuel pumps...

If the coil is having a problem it just runs like shit in general, there's no smoothing out. You can also check the coil by removing the wires and inspection the terminals. I've never heard or witness a SHO coil just go bad, it's usually caused by corrosion inside the terminals.
