How's your battery and alternator? When my alternator went my car was doing some weird stuff like the tach not working and all the lights on the dash were lit. After that it sputtered and shut off on me....it would start but run like s*it.
Changed the alternator and everything was normal again. Check your alternator.

most likely cause is a wiring problem - wires rubbing together causing intermittent short. it could also be a bad dis and/or pcm, but much less likely.

Ugh - I was (and still am) hoping that it's not a wiring issue. We all know how many wires there are in any engine, let alone the SHO... I will never be able to figure that out.

The battery and alternator are about 6 months old.. I don't think it's either of them, the amperage coming off both is normal.

Anyone else? Is it possible that a bad coil pack would be causing the sputtering, and possibly blew this particular fuse, especially since it's the one labeled "Ingnition coil"?

I already spent $90 on the ICRM that I didn't reall have laying around -so I'm hesitant to purchase a new coil pack without having some confirmation that could be what is causing the issue... and could have blown the fuse. Now that the car is running again - I was able to pull the codes - everything checked out fine. No faults KOEO and KOER.

If it's a wiring problem - I really don't know what to do.

I've heard this rumored before...

...but unplug your low coolant sensor. I've heard it can pop that fuse if it's faulty. I've NO experience with this happening to me, but there are a couple of threads to that end.

I dont think this has anything to do with the fuse blowing issue, but as far as the miss, did you change your plugs. If I remember you said you were running bosch ones. I know of more than one instance where this cause issues with missing ect. Its cheap and easy and is one variable I would remove from the equation.

ok - here's another question... is it possible that my original CCRM was bad, and now the replacement one is causing the fuse to blow? I mean, I dunno what else it could be. I'm going to try and put my old one back in, and make sure there is a good fuse in, and see what happens... but like I said, if it's a wiring issue and not something that I can just take out and replace (like a coil pack) I'm going to be at a loss.

Is it not possible that a bad coil pack could cause a M1 fuse to blow? Does anyone know the answer to that?

Thought maybe a short in the coil pack could cause the weird studder, and also blow the fuse. The fuse does not blow at idle. Only blew again when I opened the throttle up to move the car in my driveway.

Andrew - I might take u up on the offer.. but I have to get $$ together first in order to do that. lol.
