If I may ask, how do you know that the cams are ok?

What exactly happens? It wont idle but runs ok when in drive and going down the road? It runs rough all the time on the gas or not? Have you drivin it much since its been sitting? Any noises coming from the engine? If there are, do they get louder with the rpms?

the engine has no noise at all, no valve noise or any signs of mechanical failure.it runs like its out of time or a major vacuum leak but havent found a leak yet.

on one of my taurus i had a line that was under the intake and god did she run like crap it was hard starting would not start when she did she missed real bad check engine light would come on. it was a mess autozone pulled a code bank 1 and bank 2 running lean. so i change to o2 sensors no luck and i was looking around on it to see how hard it was to change plugs and found a vacuum line off and busted and i changed that and she cleared up and the running lean code was she was sucking to much air in to the surge tank.

Pull your front vanity cover and do a compression check. If all is good, pull the intake and do one on the rear set of cylinders. I HOPE all is good for you.

before i brake the seal on the gaskets i would look right under the throttle body unit to and i would look right behind the surge tank there are some hose there that do get hot and get very brittle i have one that needs to be replaced real soon. then if you dont find nothing get your gaskets and take it off and and inspect all them hoses

PS check everything on the air intake system it just takes a small crack or lose hose to cause a head ache. i learned the hard why i have replaced all kinds of thigs on a car and spen hundreds and come to find out all it was a cheap hose.

if that is not it or you dont see nothing do what sho#7 said do a compression test.
