Ok I have a **** of a problem. It just started like Saturday but when I press the gas and baby the throttle the car runs fine, but when I kinda get on it, 3/4 throttle or even full throttle it aacts likes it slipping. The rpm's raise quite fast but the car goes nowhere. Example: I was driving 55 on the highway and went to go past someone, sitting at 2.5k rpm, I give it gas and it jumps from 2.5 to like 5k rpm but it only got up to 65...and I know a LOT better, at 5k in 5th I should be going quite a bit faster then 65. But if I baby it then it acts fine. Some people were trying to tell me I might have a vacuum problem and if thats it then I need to look into that, other people are telling me that its my clutch because the shifting is a bit harder and not as easy and every once and a while at a stop light I can smell a little bit of burnt clutch (wierd). But what does it sound like to you guys? I need to get this fixed ASAP because the car is running like crap. Another option was my friend had a mustang and he said the wierd idle was because of his MAF sensor...but would that also cause the no power on command that Im getting now?? Thanks ahead of time!

clutch. If you smell clutch there's a problem and with the symptoms you described that's more than likely the culprit.

I know that if I feather a little too much when I launch the clutch slips pretty bad, and then I have a lovely smell when I sit at a stop light or park for the night.

Sounds like the clutch. Lift up on the clutch pedal to let it adjust the cable. If that doesn't help you're likely due for a new clutch.

If you keep driving it while it's slipping like that it may strand you somewhere.

Obviously you have beaten on the clutch too much.

The average SHO clutch is ended by the TOB eating thru the pressure plate fingers. Even my SHOs last clutch, with 50 thousand something miles on it, had nearly have of the disc left, but the PP had been destroyed.

Alternatives to clutch: TPS, MAF, Vacuum leak.

Troubleshoot the clutch and transaxle first, then chase your tail with the above stuffs.
