Hey how's everyone doin?? Well I had a Fibertuff 9-puck clutch disc along with a heavy duty pressure plate installed on my SHO last summer when I had the transmission rebuilt at AAMCO. I've been ******* the car here and there and have put only 5k on the new clutch and rebuilt tranny. My clutch started sightly slipping in 5th gear one day when I went to accelerate and it went from doing that to now slipping in EVERY gear. I can only bring the RPM up to about 1700 or so before it starts to slip. I can't accelerate it either without it slipping. So I have to hold the pedal in one spot, BARELY down, shifting through all 5 gears. Talk about a horrible 0-60 time.
Anyway, I took the car back to AAMCO and they claim my clutch is fried after taking it for a drive. I've been suggested by other people that they installed the clutch wrong because after they installed the new clutch and all the clutch was grabbing with the clutch pedal almost COMPLETELY released. I don't trust taking my car back to them and don't really have the equipment to drop the tranny myself. I have the tools, but I don't know if I feel like going through all that work because of how stressful work has been lately.
So is there anyone remotely nearby that is experienced with these things that can diagnose my problem and change my clutch, if necessary, for a good price????? The car is drivable (barely), but I can get you the car one way or another if you live anywhere at all nearby. Even if you live as far as northern VA I'm game for bringing you my car if you'd willing to do the work. Thanks a bunch for your time and responses people!
