Need a seal for the linkage on the MTX, rod shifter, where the shaft goes into the trans housing. Mine is leaking and has been forever. I might as well drain it and replace. Any ideas where I can score one?

You guys rule!!

Any experience replacing one of these?

What's the procedure? Does it go on dry or loobed?

You always want to **** the inner part of any seal. For this case I would just dip my finger in some ATF and run it around the inside. Use a socket the same size as the seal to knock it into place or take the seal to a hardware store and get a section of pvc pipe the same diameter. Either way will work.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. The main seal on my LS1 specifically said to put on dry.

The seal was new when the trans was rebuilt. It always leaked. Must have been damaged during installation.

Summit Racing has Timken seals for the Gen1 tranny.

Make sure there are no burrs or rust on the shaft before installing the new seal.
