Long story short while I was replacing the studs in my exhaust manifold I somewhere along the way managed to disconnect or simply forget to reconnect a vacuum line.

I know this because after I buttoned everything I noticed my air only comes from the defrost vents and won't go anywhere else no matter what the setting.

I didn't find any major cause for concern here as defrost was all I needed.

Lately though it must've gotten worse because my SHO stalls at cold starts at least once or twice before it'll run and then it still idles low (~650 rpm).

I know this is a vacuum isue and I can clearly hear the hiss on the fire wall side of the engine but have tried countless times with a water bottle to find it.

SO my question to you guys is where is the vacuum line that runs into the switch for the a/c vents?

all replies are appreciated.

There are some small plastic hoses that run along the upper part of the firewall. Not sure how you managed to undo one, as they are hard to removed from their T-fittings. Have you looked on your vacuum block? There are a myriad of places that you could have a vac leak, it really is just a matter of looking at them all.

checked all along the hoses that run along the firewall. they seem fine, I checked for vacuum by pulling any hoses off that I could find and pressing my finger against them.

I may have a crack in one , I haven't noticed a loss in power ( although I'm sure I'm loosing a little) but it's an annoyance. It's just that I've noticed most SHO problems are commonplace issues and was hoping someone would have ran into something near the rear exhaust manifold before and could inform me.

I'll just have to get offf my butt when I make it back home and give it a thorough look it seems.
