mysterious oil loss

twice in 2 months now, my YELLOW check oil light has come on. both times i checked the oil level, and ended up adding 2 quarts each time. the first was just as i got home from vacation. my total trip was 2000 miles, so i expected it to be low, but not 2 quarts low. second time was just earlier this week. the LSSHOC had a meet in Austin and we drove pretty aggressively (commiting terrorist activity as one Barney put it). i dont notice or smell any oil burning out the tail pipe. there are no oil stains on the ground where i park. valve cover gaskets are new, oil pan gasket is new, plug well seals are new, front main seal is new, rear main wasnt leaking when i did the clutch 3K miles ago. however, while i did my clutch, i noticed a drip of oil. it was hanging on the intake bracket on the right rear of the motor. there was also oil residue around the cam seals, so im thinking its leaking there. but other than that, where could i be losing 2 quarts of oil after an easy 2000 mile drive or a hard 300 mile romp in the park ? any and all relevant input is appreciated.

Cam seals, valve cover seals, oil level sensor, oil pressure sensor? Or as you stated, oil pan, front main or rear main. You need to locate the source of the leak(s) before you can actually stop it.

Have you crawled under the car to look. May be leaking only as you drive and splashing all over the underside, but you would probably smell this.

My guess is valve guide/seals and rings. Try some Auto-RX.
