So, yeah, lately my car has been getting hard to shift between gears, especially into 1st and reverse when sitting at a stop. When the clutch pedal is fully depressed, the car wants to still slowly inch forward because it seems the clutch isn't fully disengaging. (Which explains the hard shifting I suppose. :bonk: ) So, would I accurate in describing the events as follows?

1. TOB gets crappy.
2. Crappy TOB damages pressure plate.
3. Pressure plate now will not completely disengage the clutch because of damaged/worn fingers.

Which results in...

4. Replace TOB with Rev. B & Quill Sleeve, replace clutch with Clutchmasters Stage 1 kit, have flywheel machined.

Oh, also, there's a squeaky sort of chattering noise that I can cause to occur when I push the clutch pedal down with the car stopped. No matter what gear, or neutral, makes the noise. What could be causing this noise? Could it be a bad pilot bearing or input bearing? Or is it just the noise of the effed TOB on my effed PP fingers?

Oh, and one other thing, how do I tell if my clutch adjustment linkage is working properly? I'd hate to have just needed to fix my adjust and linkage. I can lift up on the clutch pedal, but when I depress it, is it supposed to click or anything?

Thanks!

Bah, nevermind, ordered a Clutchmasters Stage 1 kit from MidwestSHO already. :D I may have to buy a quill sleeve though, we'll see.

Any clutch kit that comes with a Rev. B TOB should also include a sleeve.

You going to DIY the clutch? if so, I have an engine support, and Jason can attest to how well it works.

Oh, trust me, I've got everything I need. Tools, a 4000lb hoist, and plenty of beer. :D When your roommate is building a drag-ready Talon TSi, you tend to have a lot of tools and stuff lying out in the garage.

I also have the SHO Nut Clutch video. Really helps.

Now THAT I don't have. Perhaps I could make a drive up to Ft. Fun and grab it from you in the next week. Hopefully I can get this clutch job done so I can make it to this month's SHO Club meeting.
