It tried pretty hard and bled out a couple hash marks of V power in less than ten miles but try as it might it couldn't get combustion.

For those of you that don't know what immolate means it's a fancy term for fire.

How you may ask? The PS pump pulley rubbed its way through one and or both of the fuel lines. It's dark out, the parts stores are closed, and the garage has cars in it so I can't really do anything about it now.

My question is can improper routing be blamed completely or do I need to look at other possible issues like a bad motor mount?

The pulley could only rub against the smaller diam. return hose since the pressure line does not cross the area and the supply hose comes off the pump at an angle that makes it unlikely to be in contact with the pully. The return line can only rub if it wasn't zip tied properly to the pump supply hose.

The only hose that's ever been close enough to rub my PS pulley was that stupid A/C line that got yanked out of alignment when I was pulling the heater core.

New line went in and was zip tied back into the corner to keep it from wandering again.

If the engine was still running I'd suspect you cut into the fuel return line, but if the leak was small enough it could have been supply side.

I just checked out my car. If you're rubbing fuel lines you definitely have them routed differently than what I have:

Yeah, it's a bit dirty under there :)
