As most of you know, I recently had to rebuild my transmission. Everything inside needed replacing as they were shot from the front seal going and burning everything up.

My question is, I had the local tranny shop install a transgo shift kit, furnace brazzed torque converter, and all new seals and everything. To be completely honest, I don't feel ANY difference EXCEPT, going from first-second, my car will sorta **** into second. From what I hear, all of the gears should do something like this. The guy said it has a one year unlimited mile warranty, should I bring it in and have them show me exactly what they did. Because on the receipt, it doesnt give detailed info and that has bugged me ever since getting it done.

A new AX4N TransGo kit should make almost no difference in shift feel for the first couple thousand miles. If your freshly rebuilt tranny is banging 1-2, then there is something not right.

IIRC, unless you install different springs inside the shift kit, the tranny will basically feel/shift the same as stock.
that is, i had two rebuilds done (Duratec and SHO) with a trans-go valve body, and both felt like stock.
then i added an SCT-XCal 1 tuner and that is the ticket!
now i can have performance shifts or return it to stock shifts all with the tuner.
the main benefit of the shift kit when doing a rebuild, as i understand it, is that it's an upgrade over the stock valve body. thus, it prolongs tranny life.

somebody correct me if i'm wrong...

I have no personal experience, but I have been told multiple times that the TransGo kits are to improve the internal oiling and therefore prolong transmission life. I have heard that the SLO AX4S has weak springs and they are upgraded to SHO springs which give better shifts, but since our transmissions already have the better parts we see no difference.
