The thing is, the camera I used didn't focus close up, which killed half the reason for shooting the pics - you can't accurately see the damage or questionable areas.

The housing can be replaced, but it requires sending it back to Vortech to match up a new housing for it. The tolerances are just too tight to send another one out & hope it matches. Also, the gouge in the housing is going to be very visible - once the blower is installed, the gouge ends up right at 12 o'clock. When I told this to Vadim, he JOKED with me, saying he'd send out a sticker to cover it.

The ONLY reason I'm holding on to it at all is I can't wait until summer's over to get this installed!

Man, that's just wrong. For that much money, that blower oughtta be shipped in a small safe.

Latest Update...

I told him last Friday after he asked me "when is it going in the shop" that I needed the remaining parts by this Wednesday. He told me he'd ship it out Friday, 2nd day shipping. I called yesterday to see if they shipped, and he said "possibly today".

Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since I got him his bank check for $3850...

His helper, Ray, asked me to give him a heads up call so he can duck out the back when I come out west shooting...

Ok, it's now Wednesday, June 13th. I received the Fuel Rails & Injectors today, but no 255lph Fuel Pump. I called, & Ray told me that I was the victim of backordered items. I didn't bother going off on him, with the "But all this Sh*t was "in stock" when I ordered it 7 WEEKS AGO...

He's having Vadim call me later. I told him the car was in the shop NOW, & need that fuel pump.

At this point, I can dial 1-714-894-8415 without even looking at the keypad anymore...

Fred,

You are by all means not the first one this has happpened to. After reading what I have on all the forums and the one time I've try doing business with them,, I would not let Vadim service a Hotwheel! Go to the BBB's site,
http://www.bbbsouthland.org/howtoreport.html

put in SHO Shop, that phone number you know by heart, and Huntington Beach, and read the report.

Not that it's going to do anything, but I filed a complaint. I am reluctant to do so, as I'm sure I'll never get anything else from them again, but I'm so ******, and I can't even get Vadim to come to the phone anymore.

Absolutely, Shawn!

I had Joe Scott overnight me a 240lph in-tank fuel pump. He told me that Kevin has been putting in 190's - 240's, so this should be ok (better than the 190 I have now...).

I hereby declare Cumberland RI a SHO-Shop-free zone.

Fred,

Have you thought about taking this thing up a level? Since he is on the other side of the country from you, you would need to either file a complaint in a RI court, get a judgment, then have the attorney general in RI collect it via the attorney general in CA.
Or take it to a federal level, like wire or mail fraud. He caused you big time grief, why don't you cause him some? He seems to laugh at the BBB.

The latest... (6/19/01)

We installed the Joe Scott supplied fuel pump today with no problems. We installed the SHO Shop supplied fuel rails and injectors, and guess what (pause, pause) - they didn't work. The injectors wouldn't fire. We had fuel pressure to the rails (schrader valve had pressure), but the engine wouldn't fire. We took the intake off again, rigged a DIS to control the firing, & no fuel came through the SS injectors. After much anguish & double checking, we put the stock rails & injectors back in, & miracle of miracles, everything worked perfectly.

At least the hours upon hours were not wasted - I have a gorgeously clean intake now. It was BAD in there, but not as bad as I've heard.

I called Vadim & all he had to say was, "that's bizarre". He says they're stock Ford parts & that he doesn't understand why they don't work. I replied, "these are the stock Mustang injectors, right?", at which point he said, "no, they're 30# injectors that are modified to run 47#". So, they're not STOCK FORD PARTS, are they, Vadim? If you got your hands on them, I can understand why they don't work...

He's "getting another batch of them together tomorrow" & he'll call me. Meanwhile, the car's in the shop waiting on him.

Why am I surprised about this?

Why don't you go down and grab Vadim and shove him under the hood, on top of the engine instead of the supercharger. Sounds like he has alot more than 9 psi of air coming out of his mouth. Could probably get your car in the 9's

Fred, what a nightmare! You don't need me to tell you that I'm sure.

Hang in there.

In 100 words or less, can you describe your buying experience from SHOshop?

Wow; sorry to hear all the negative flak about the SHO Shop. I will be the first to admit they are never speedy, even if your car _is_ local. I've taken my car there at least four times, and now I'm used to knowing that it'll be at least two weeks before I see it again.
Even for people who are in the same city (Huntington Beach) getting hold of Vadim can be difficult. He's a very busy guy. One day I just rollerbladed down to the shop to poke my head in. The SHO Shop always looks the same: four or five cars sitting in the shop, two or three of which are being worked on, with five to six SHOs littered around the parking lot, and if someone is in the office, they're invariably on the phone or trying to placate/service a customer. I usually just stand by and watch or check out all the pretty SHOs.

Not defending them, understand, just stating that they need to hire some more help.

My whole point / problem with the situation seems to be I'm the logical sort.

a) Once you take my money, deliver what you promise.

b) If you say "Tuesday", it better be Tuesday (and not 2 weeks from now Tuesday).

c) If you don't know, say so.

d) If you say you've shipped something, be prepared to back it up with a tracking number.

e) Make sure the box contains what it's supposed to before you ship it out.

f) when you do ship it out, make sure you send it to the correct address.

g) hurried conversations & "yep, yep" cause mistakes to happen. Take 2 minutes, get the whole story, think about it, then answer.

h) be sure not to **** off a guy who has all of these SHO buds & a public forum to vent the frustrations out on!
