1993 Red/Black MTX, 165k, its over heating like a son beach, though. Fan is working so I dunno what the **** the problem is right now. It's at Joe's house of SHO repair and blues, so it's all good :)

Work is about to begin!

maybe there is air in the cooling system? you can try bleeding the air out of it by removing the radiator cap starting the car and once it reaches operating temp(and the t-stat opens) if theres any air in the system u will see bubbles in the radiator..im not sure if you can see straight into the radiators on SHO's...then when theres nomore air bubbles recover it...i kno i had to do this to my friends stang and another friends dakota at one time or another. or another reason could be the tstat itself being bad...

When do you plan to do the 60k? All my stuff is packed (except for two cases of shims/ other shims were packed), but I could probably lend a hand.

I may as well be in the special Olympics of Code reading, but here's what I think I got:

KOEO
551--(O) No power to PCM pin 1 or bad PCM (processor)

KOER
It blinked a **** of a lot, but none of them make any sense. :nut: I think I'll try again tomarrow night.

I couldn't get the balance test right either, I'll try again. I usually get 77 on the '90 "System didn't recieve goose test". I guess I just didn't goose it hard enough!

Jason, If you're not doing anything Monday or Wendsday, I think Paul and I are going to work on his car out at my place. From your place it probably takes about an hour to get here though. I like working out there late though, Wendsday night at least, I work Tues. morning.

I've got about any and all tools we need, so that's not an issue. I'm working part-time at the Chebby dealership, and going to school in October for GM mechanics, so I've been slowly collevting tools for the past 18 months. Since my last tool box got stolen.

Joe is a night owl and how he pulls it off, I have yet to figure it out.

Heres what I was able to get when I pulled codes. Booo OBD-I!

53 95 51 55 1 55 1 1 75 42 55 61 75 42 55 6

WTF that means, no idea.

Edit, it may be

yep, I'll be at work in 6 hours.

I'll go to sleep here in about 20 minutes
-sleep for 5 hours
-wake up and shower.
-Go to work at the shop for 4 hours, get off at 12pm
-have lunch with my girlfriend
-drive 15 minutes home, shower again (if need be), check forum, e-mail, weather..etc...
-drive 30 minutes to paint store
-go to work at the paint store for 6.5 hours
-drive 30 minutes home, spend 4-5 hours in the garage.

I can get away with this because I have Tuesdays and Thursdays off, I can ralax a little bit, for now....

I'm still only working 40-45 hours a week combined, but only MWF, and every other weekend. Hopefully I will be working more like 50-55 soon.

I needs moneys for da tools!!!! (and parts for the SHO)

We'll try and post take two of pulling codes tomarrow. I'm thinking the PCM or CCRM is fried, but hopefully that's not the case.

Joe lets hold off the repairs until I get the title work rolling. It is my job this week before I go to work.

After that its wrench time!

I suppose stock piling parts is not a bad thing either...

I *may* be able to do something on Wednesday, however, we've been doig a lot of shopping for furniture. If I can make it, I will.

I used to be a night owl and never go to sleep (days), but it has caught up to me. Now if I'm up late, it's playing video games or feeding daughter.

When I drive the SHO, it feels like the first time I supercharged it! Low altitude is GREAT! I've probably gained 20% of my lost power back!

There are a few dyno's in the area, most can be found on the NESS site.

So, maybe Wendsday, or not Paul?? I need some rest anyway, I was on my feet way more than usual today, and I'm used to standing all day.

Wednesday could work, my dad will be down I think, maybe mom too. Steaks, SHO's, and wrenching?

Haha! Last night I was just to tired to do anything, it was a case of the Mondays.

Somebody's got a case of the Monday's!!!

CEL came on on the '93 today, 538 and 521. Aparently I can never get the goose test right (538), and I forgot to turn the wheel (521).

I should be out tomorrow, depending on if my parents are in town. I'm going to try to find an IR temp sensor to see what the coolant temp is at. Otherwise, I'll jerry rig a $10 mechanical sensor to find out the temp. Apparently it still is "normal" but reading like an ass hat on the gauge.

I'll be home at about 8:45, but if you want to come out earlier, you're more than welcome. Either my mom or dad should be home by 5pm.

Those guages are weird, one car can be completly different than the next. As long as I don't see steam, it's normal.

Someone PM me an address or give me a call... I might be able to make it out, at least to hang out anyway (not for too long).

Very nice looking SHO NebraskaSHO. If it wasn't for that omaha rust on it, it would be perfect!

Good luck finding out what the issue is with the cooling. My .02 is that the thermostat is stuck close, if burping does not fix the heating issue I would go to that next, then the water pump.

The intake is partially cleaned, the cam covers are cleaned, the seats have been leather conditioned, and we're about ready to drop the factory Y pipe and oil pan. Come on RCM!

:woohoo:

Nice. I picked up a cheap White/Black MTX a couple years ago that I have cleaned up, did rod bearings, 60K, and have yet to put 50 miles on it. I have too many toys. I hope you drive yours unlike me!
