I would be upset about the body tweaks more than anything. That car looks like nothing more than a daily driver now, nothing you would want to build up for sure. Next thing you know, the tires are going to have weird tread wear.

As for the paint job, I could live with it if the car was meant to be nothing more than a beater. But the work put into the paint job looks nothing near professional.

Looks more like a car saved from salvage than a cam failure....

So, you're telling me that huge patches of blue paint showing through on a silver car is no big deal? A bent frame is not cosmetic damage.

My 92 SHO had less cosmetic damage (or wear and tear) than that. I paid $500 for the body/interior, etc (had a bad motor). Sunk quite a bit more into the driveline, suspension, etc. but did nothing to the interior/exterior and it looked better than that did. The 92 was on its original paint, too. I probably had around $6,000 into my 92 total.

My 97 Expedition is in better shape than that, too. I only paid $6,000 for it. No tears in door panels, paint problems or anything else. I've put nearly 25,000 miles on it since I got it and it's still in better shape comparatively than what Daniel got. Driveline is at 100%, too.

I just bought a 94 Crown Vic for $1250 - again better shape than that. Absolutely perfect interior, perfect paint on the outside, not even a spot of rust. Driveline is rock solid.

Based on my experiences with those three used car purchases I would say Daniel has some good grounds to be upset. I would have much higher expectations for a $5,000 97 SHO. If he was never told it was in a front end collision then that is a bigger problem. Some of those issues are to be expected if he knew it was in a collision.

I guess I'm a nit-picker too as all those things that are pictured would have bothered me, but I'd never buy a car without looking at it either, as I trust noone.
This is exactly why I decided to both inspect and test drive my current SHO before purchasing. While I implicitly trusted the parties involved in the sale, I still had to lay eyes and hands on it so I knew what I was getting into, and so that there would be no issues going forward.

Recently I purchased something sight unseen for the most part, and the parts ending up being screwed. In the end, the transaction worked out well for all involved, but it still reminded me why I had my inspection policy for high $$$ used items.

On the issue of the chassis damage and repairs:

If the bent frame (because that's what that is; a bent frame) and the collision that caused it were disclosed prior to the transaction, then there's not much to say. OTOH, if it wasn't mentioned or discussed, and the fender spacers and... ahem... repainted panel were discovered after the fact and unexpectedly, then that's just wrong. I don't care if Daniel got the car for a bar of Snickers and a bag of Dorito's, intentional misrepresentation of a product to make a sale is just plain wrong. The dirty interior... whatever. My car wasn't spotless when I got it, but it cleaned up damn nice, so no harm no foul.

And on the issue of the ******* match between Eric and Larry and Doug and Kirk...

Seriously, what the **** is wrong with you all? Save that shit for someone who cares, becase frankly, we've all been watching it for years and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I'm tired of the shit. Go go and take it to the schoolyard and box it out or whatever the **** you guys have to do, but really, enough is enough. The four of you are grown ass men, and yet you're acting like a bunch of 13 year old girls. It's as lame now as it's always been, and it needs to end.

Daniel, good luck, and I hope you get this whole ordeal resolved to some degree of satisfaction.

Thats well beside the point. You a car without even Taking a look at it. Regardless of Kirks reputation it was YOUR responsibility to inspect the car and see if it was up to your standards before taking delivery. The fact of the matter is that you didnt. I personally would embarrassed to spend that much money on a car that was not up to my standards without even looking at it, Let alone come on the forum complaining about it so much. You should have at least called Kirk to work it out before you even decided to post that here. But then again thats just my opinion and I dont know the whole story and the fine details in between. Hope it gets worked out.

The condition of the car is the main point to this thread.

I did contact Kirk multiple times and was not satisfied with the result; hence my post on here. You are right that I should have inspected it carefully before taking ownership, which I admitted to at the very beginning. That's not the issue of this thread.

I am not complaining about the car. I have accepted the fact that the car is mine now and that Kirk is not going to compensate me for my added expenses. My complaint is the misrepresentation of the car by Kirk. The purpose of a vendor feedback forum is to warn others of prior misdealings with particular vendors, and that is my purpose as well. Not once in this thread have I asked Kirk or NESHO for any compensation; I have simply stated what transpired and the condition of the car.

Constructive critisicm I am more than willing to accept; belittling I am not. Trust me when I say I have learned my lesson and don't need to be told it further.

I'm not trying to belittle you in any way. Sorry if I came off that way. I just think this thread is not necissary but thats just my opinion. In any case I hope to see it all get worked out. :thumb:

Not an attack on Kirk.

But I'm thinking if this same thread had been brought up and the feedback was on another member, the responses from all the these members would have been totally different.

If Kirk was not the person in question here, would your responses be the same?

I seriously think not.

The attacks could have been on Brian of SHObro's (Who I consider a friend), Beth, Kurt, Kirk...whatever, It wouldent have any weight on my opinion. If somone completely screwed somone over then they screwed em' over, Doesent matter who they are, However in this case I just dont see it.

We were on our way down to Paul’s again, so I didn’t have time to look at the car, aside from driving it off the trailer and into my driveway. I gave him the $5750, and we went our separate ways.

:shakehead You gotta look a car over before you hand them the money no matter what. Everyone knows that.

You were dissapointed with the car cosmetically, and Kirk replied to you with this.
Kirk said:
Again Ill tell you that Im sorry that you not happy and when you want I will switch over all you new componets into a chassis of your expectations for free. or stuff it in a Gen 4 for you and all you would have to pay for is the electronic part of the swap. If the trans continues to give you problems feel free to see what its like to drive 1000 miles each way for free and Ill have the trans fixed or replaced again at no cost to you the next day. Ill pay for the hotel as well for you.

I read that, and i was sure this wouldve been resolved right then and there. Thats a more than fair fix, for your dissatisfaction if you ask me. If thats not an attempt to make it right IDK what is. But this is obviously a personal issue, not business. This is why this thread should go in the trash. This personal stuff shouldnt go on here. Since there is real scumbags around that actually do burn people, we should save the space in this section for them.

Daniel, sorry to hear about the situation. I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs or what Kirk may or may not have known about the car because I just don't know.

I would, however, like to warn you against the peanut gallery (Larry and Eric). I heard "through the grapevine" that both were looking over the car and found issues with it. You can bet that if Kirk would have handed you a 500hp supercharged car in exchange for a Snickers and a stick of Juicy Fruit Eric and Larry would still find fault with the car. Both have the ability to act half their age and have demonstrated such on multiple occasions.

Both are downright bitter and vindictive and my cat has forgotten more about SHOs than one of them has ever known. While I respect Eric's knowledge I would encourage you to take anything these two have to say with a grain of salt. For that matter the same goes for anything Kirk might have to say about them.

wow after looking at the picks i cant see how you can ******, honestly all i saw was a decent looking gen 3 that has probably spent most of its life as a daily driver. the car has a fresh motor that has been welded by a very respectable vendor and a new tranny which he is offering to fix under warranty. honestly i want the last 25 minutes of my life back that i just spend reading this entire post. if i bought a gen three with all new drive train components for under 6k i would be extactic even if the damn thing didnt have fenders...

the little things that are wrong with the car are totally undetectable from more than 2 feet. thats a decent car for the money. now take him up on the warranty and we can all get some sleep.

Johnny, it's definitely not personal to me. I may not be happy with my business dealing with Kirk, but I don't have anything against Kirk. I hope that is eveidenced by my conduct in this thread. However, I don't think I'm wasting space by any means. I, like everyone else on here, have a right to let other members know if I'm satisfied or dissatisfied with a business transaction with a vendor. You've made your point clear that you don't feel the same way as I do; there is no need to be insulting. Also, I would like to point out that the vast majority of my repairs to date have been mechanical, not cosmetic.

Mikey, thanks for looking out for me man. I just want to make it clear that Eric and Larry didn't show me anything that I hadn't already known. This is not a situation where they talked me into being dissatisfied with the car. The email I sent Kirk that is quoted in my original post was sent about a month before either of them ever saw the car and even knew from whom I purchased the car. I know you're just looking out for me though, and I appreciate it.

Newby, I don't know what to say other than you and I have differing opions on what a quality car looks like. A roughly 3" x 3" patch of fender that's blue on a car that's silver is definitely noticeable from more than 2' away to me, as is the gap above the passenger headlight.

I will be contacting Kirk soon about the tranny work. I travel quite a bit for my job, and I don't have the time to take off work right now and I need the car obviously for the travel. The rest I'll just fix myself.
