My CRX is no longer a 12.0 second car :(

Now that i have properly sized slicks its a mid 11 second car instead :) went to the track tonight with the new 23s, the weather was crap with thunder storms in the area the track got wet once and they dried it off, i started high on the tire pressure at 10 psi to see how they worked and only 5K launch rpm and 3 psi anti lag, ran a 11.84 right out the gate, next pass i lowered the tires to 9 left the rest alone and ran a 11.80 bogging a little, next pass lowered to 8 psi and upped rpm to 5500 and anti lag to 10 psi and pulled a 1.71 and ran a 11.71, still spinning pretty good and not shifting into 3rd the best. then it rained. i am pretty sure i can get down to 1.6** 60 fts and 11.5 to 11.6 passes. here is 1 video my wife took of me running my first pass and here is my best time slip before it rained.

set a new best time last night . worse 60ft then my 11.71 but the air was better.
toolman i am maxed out at .46 of a mile with my current tranny, so i would be on revlimiter sitting at around 155 mph or so for over half the distance :( my other tranny has a better 5th gear but still the same low final drive so its not much better, it maxes out at 170 and some change.

Let me start this buy again saying great times. Very respectable numbers. As far as a standing mile speed (or standing half mile), I have crunched my fair share of numbers, for a great many cars. I can assure you, no car in history that is trapping 118 mph in the 1/4 has trapped anywhere near 155 in the half. The physics simply do not allow it. It takes your car 4.15 seconds to accelerate from 93.9 to 118.9 (an increase of 25mph). There is simply no way you are going to increase your speed another 36 mph in the final 1/4. A stock C6 Z06 (505hp and great aero), which will routinely trap in the low 120's (and many times faster), is doing very good to hit 145 in the half mile, 170 in the full mile. Based on your back half and trap speed, I would guess you have about 6.8 seconds to accelerate through the last 1/4 mile of a standing mile pass. Obviously, as your speed increases, so does the wind resistance, and therefore your accleration decreases. Your average acceleration during the first 1/8th of your timeslip shows you increasing your speed 12.55 mph per sec. Your average acceleration during your last 1/8th was 6.02 mph per sec (a degradation of over 50%). To hit 155 by the end of a 1/2 mile run, you would have to have almost no degradation of acceleration during that entire final 1/4 mile, which obviously is not going to happen. My guess, you would see 145-147 in the half mile. Still, a very respectable trap.

dont know what to tell yah, the data i presented is actual data gathered doing a standing mile. i used my cars on board management system to record the run and my GPS and mechanical speedometer to also gather data. you cant really go off my time slips for several reasons, 1 is these are at track that is higher above sea level then my normal track, the MPH is down allot. secondly my slicks are much shorter then my street tires and to this day my best trap speed and worse ET has been on my street tires. on the street tires my car actually builds MPH threw 3rd and 4th much faster then when im on the slicks, could be a mixture of the height and the fact the slicks only have 8 psi in them. all i know is im not willing to cut into the car to cage it so im pretty much stuck at this power level, if i add much more i will end up needing a cage. most tracks require one at the 11.49 mark and im only 1 pass on a sticky track with cold dry air from mailing down at least a 11.5. , here is how bad i spin the slicks , imagine if i hooked even some what.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewkg7RJ82TI notice how it sits and spins first and second just claws at the ground, and my shift light for 5th comes on just as i cross the finish line. i learned along time ago to not use number crunching as you call it to explain to different set ups and why they dont compare, a good example is how my car has the same MPH of other cars running 10s :( and lastly not that it matters a great deal but when i did the run i was running a couple more pounds of boost then i been using at the track lately, its just been to darn hot to risk any detonation for only a couple tenths gain , when it cools back off i will turn it back up some.

No, it's cool man. But until you get out to an actual standing mile race, and do a run on a measured closed course with actual timing lights, it's all number crunching anyway. The SORC, while it is a good trip for you, would be a blast! They now have side-by-side racing down a mile long airstrip (1/2 mile runs), very very cool. No timing equipment, but they do announce your trap speed.

side by side standing mile would be awesome.

The airstrip is only long enough to support a 1/2 mile run, but still, I have not heard of any other venue offering 1/2 mile side by side drag racing. There were some seriously cool matchups this year. Really looking forward to next year.
