I tried to start my car tonight, and it would crank but wouldnt turn over.
I checked the fuses, and two were blown. I also noticed and slight burning smell. The fuses are the ones under the hood. They are the two smallest fuses in the fuse box. They are nearest to the fender of the driver's side. They are labeled "10"

I was not able to check codes, the codes would not flash.

As dumb as I am, I then jumpered the fuse locations and then successfully started the car, I immediately cut off the car and noticed smoke coming from the area where the over flow bottle is for the radiator coolant. The smoke appears to be coming from wires.

I know that I made a big mistake by jumpering the fuse location. I am also certain that the wires in the radiator bottle location and damaged, these wires are near the passenger side fender.... (I also believe the damaged wires are what caused the fuse to blow initially.)
How would I go about to fix this matter? I need the car to work by saturday cuz I have to drive back to NYC to go to my job. And my folks are out of town, so I dont have a loaner :frown:

thanx in advance

The more info i find, the more of a jack*ss i feel.

Ok checked the manual. I think the fuses are M1 and M2 (ten amps each)

M1 is ignition coil and M2 is accessory feed.

Where do i go from here?
thanx

Try unplugging the level sensor for the coolant reservoir. Replace the fuses and see what happens. I have heard of them shorting out and causing similar issues.

You'll need a multimeter, a wiring diagram, and a WHOLE lot of patience. Hook up the red meter lead to the car side (as opposed to battery side) of the fuse holder, put the black lead to ground. It will probably read about zero. Start unplugging harnessess that are connected to that particular harness until the reading goes up to infinite. Then trace that particular path till you find a shorted wire. but some electrical tape, and you should be good, assuming you didn't smoke the car when you put over 10A through it

Bingo! it was indeed the coolant sensor. I'm gonna check napa this weekend for a new one. My coolant overflow bottle smells like a crack pipe... Uh, not that I know what one actually smells like... :naughty:

I also fixed my anti-lock brake problem in the process... fuses, go fig!

thanks yall and God Bless
