Thanks!

I've got an EATC to experiment with, as it lost lighting in four of the bottom-row control buttons. MAX A/C and VENT went first, then the PNL & FLR and FLOOR backlighting . . . .

Pictures are always good for generating ideas . . . !

Was someone paging Eric . . . ?

Who ever does [eventually] decide to try to tackle this, they would most likely have to get the engineering douments. I'm sure it would include the what's and how's of programming the eprom. The biggest issue will be how the LED light elements are driven - and whether the eprom can only store/handle a fixed number of pre-determined letters and numbers, or that it can be reprogrammed such that any individual LED element can be illuminated when it goes to the default state (which is currently OFF).

With the way the seven (7) LED elements are configured, the number "5" can be used as the "S", and the "O" already exsists. It's seems it would be simply a matter of getting the number "4" to display as an "H", or the letter "F" to display as an "H" (since the "F" is not used for anything else). You'd have to convert "54O" or "5FO" to get "SHO".

It's simply a matter of figuring out how to get into the eprom memory, and what limitations there are to work with. It may be as simple as:

"default = SHO"

and defining the letter "H" to display LED elements 2,3,4,5,6 (if they are number sequentually 1-to-7 from top to bottom).

But until you can get into the eprom, it's all speculation as to whether and what can be done . . . .

Call me when you get ready to start on this, as I have a "few" spare EATCs that can be used for working guinea pigs . . . .

I'll bug my brother to see what info he can throw my way.

Just look at Jason's wife's car.

There was another post a few years back about a blue light EATC but I don't have the link at the moment. I'm pretty sure someone changed their gen 1 clock blue with some transparent blue film. Another user turned his gen 3 oval of death blue; I had plans and bought blue electroluminescent wire to do this but got into another project.

Appreciate the compliment, but the EATC and electronics are bone stock. In fact, two of the bulbs in the EATC are burnt out... just like stock! :rofl: but it was such a pain in the balls getting it in there that we aren't planning on removing it to fix it any time soon. If I have an opportunity to do some logic bus analyzing I might do that, but that would be at least a year down the road; not much I can do from here.

Where is a good place to get the blue film? I've been looking around for blue cd cases. Would help if we all knew of one brand that was the best to use based on the way it was made. I have a blue slim cd case but it has a clear door and frosted blue back :(

I found a blue 906 bulb for my dome light on ebay. Uses led's. Haven't found a blue 906 bulb locally so will probably go with the one off ebay.
