Multiple Problems NEED HELP (Valve Gaskets, Plugs, and Wires)

Guys I need some serious help here. . . We all know that SHO parts are expensive and hard to find headbang so I was wondering if anybody has a good wholesaler. . . My engine needs serious work shrug . . . I need: Ignition Wires (Dealer = $324), Valve Gaskets Complete (O-Ring, 6 rings, 1 perimeter), Spark Plugs, and a new Water Pump.

One of my cylinders is nearly full with oil and is still leaking. My ignition wires are curling causing the check engine light to go on. I also need to replace my DPF Sensor and my O2 Sensor (might be related to the ignition wires and other problems) soon.

So PLEASE help me out, if you are in the Bergen County NJ area and can do the work for me that would be greatly appreciated since I know the dealer's will charge very high. I will pay well. And most of all, I need to find parts for wholesale online or somewhere in NJ. I tried fordpartsonline.com and could only find the water pump.

Believe it or not you can do this yourself. Just because you have never done it doesn't mean you can't do it.

Get the plugs, wires, and 2 intake manifold gaskets (E9DZ9439A) from Torrie at http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com and get the fel pro gasket set VS50378R from AutoZone.com

There's plenty of info and support to do this job yourself.

I think a gauge cluster costs atleast $800. I offer my support. YOu should be able to handle the task of doing all of the engine maintenance with minimal auto mechanics experience. If you are patient, can follow instructions, and have faith, you'll be just fine. It's best to buy a helms factory manual and suck up all the information available on www.shotimes.com. Anytime you have a problem just check out the forums. Try to use the search feature first. If you can't find it with that, then feel free to post your dilemma. Good luck man.

I have sent you some information. See if that is something that you want to attempt. You can also look at pictures of several 60K services by clicking here and entering the guest passwords service and 269k. The first passwordwill allow you to view the pictures of cars I have worked on other than my own and the second password will take you to the pictures of the latest services on my car.

When I took her in for an oil chnage (two days ago; before I knew the problem was this serious) the mechanic there said that I could do it myself too. I'd need to get tools from Pep Boys becasue my father doesn;t have any that I can borrow. lol So once I get the parts and instructions it can't be too hard, because I am a bright kid. The only problem I might run into is that the cylinder DOES have oil in it and how will I get that out? I can exactly turn the car over and pour it out.

Is there another name that Ignition wires go by? I can't seem to find them.

By "cylinder" I assume you are referring to the spark plug wells. If so, there have been several creative methods used to extract the oil prior to removal of the plug. Anything from a modified shop-vac to a spray pump off a Windex bottle. Personally, I had a small amount of oil in 2 of my wells when we did the 60k. We used compressed air and brake cleaner to remove it. The method is not so important, just make sure you clean it out!!!

To find the wires on FPN's website, scroll towards the bottom of the home page and click on the "Welcome Taurus SHO" link. You will find the wires (part #WR-4003) listed there for ~$99

In case there's any confusion, you can use the cheaper MTX wires on an ATX car. Save a few bucks. If you have any reservations there is a video of how to do a 60k that can be purchased at Sho Nut Perfomance. It has the procedure you need and much more on it. It's around $20-25. Well worth it.

Just purchase the 60K Video and also read Scott's excellent 60K/Valve Gap Procedure document for even more info.

After watching the video you will feel pretty confident!
