I tried searching and I found out some fluids to use, but I am unsure what blocking rings my transmission has and if it matters. My brother said they were made with a different material for the blocking rings and I just wanted to double check what fluid I should use. I think my car might have brass blocking rings as it was made in 4/91 and it has a cable shifter. Does it matter which type of blocking rings the tranny has? My brother recommended Mobil 1 ATF and I just wanted to double check to see if that would be fine in my car. I would rather make sure it is fine now instead of learning after I would put the stuff in.:)

Thanks.

I have a '92 and that's what I use, Mobil 1 ATF. I've been happy with it.

Mobil 1 ATF is an excellent choice and should work regardless of which blocking rings you have.

Also, there's a simple mod to install a drain plug at the bottom of the tranny. If there's not one already there I'd recommend adding one, as it's the easiest way to get the old fluid out. Instructions here.
