Actually you are mistaken... the "bolt" that comes out with the end of a 3/4" drive IS the fill plug, and the only reason fluid will come out, if the car is completely level, is if the tranny was overfilled with fluid. When properly filled the fluid level should be even with the bottom of the fill plug hole, not pouring out of it.

Yup, and when it stops dripping the fluid should be level with the bottom of the fill plug hole and at the correct level. A COMPLETELY empty tranny (case halves removed and ALL fluid out) will hold just under 3 qts of fluid. LOL the factory car manual says that the tranny holds something like 5.5 qts, so don't go by that or you're going to have 2.5 qts of fluid on the ground. :)

The bolt in pic one goes through the case and sits in the groove of the shift interlock in the area noted in the pic below.

Any chance these pics could be updated? I'd like to check my tranny fluid level before I drive the SHO again since my tranny seems kinda stiff :confused:
