its been a bad couple of weeks for the SHO. still working on the overheating problem. last night i'm coming home from a buddies house and as i turn the corner on to my street, the shifter pops out of gear. I try to put it back in, and it feels like it goes but let the clutch out and there is just a bad rattling noise. put it on jack stands and checked the linkage, its fine. the rattling is comming from the diff part of the trans. I broke it.

took it to a shop cause i don't have the time to mess with it. i think thy will be calling to ask if i know where to find a sho trans, what do ya'll think?

Sounds like you snapped the cross shaft lock bolt! Your lucky, usually the ring gear picks up one of the broken pieces and fires it throught the side of the trans case. When mine went it blew about a 5" hole through the case.

ya, i was kinda thinking that i was luckly it didn't granade. never thought i would call that lucky, but ya know.

how does one end up breaking their diff?, is it just from hard turning or just crappy material made into the trans?

Save the MTX4's!!! Don't burn out!! You will blow it up, palin and simple. If you want to abuse the trans (burning out, power shifting) save your cash for a Quaife. $1200 bucks starts to look pretty cheap after you have swapped out a few trannys.

turns out it was the clutch. i never burn out, tires cost too much.
