I been reading write ups on the conversion. Im alittle confused as too why one needs to mess with the front of the engine at all. I thought the blocks were the same for both 3.2 and 3.0, so why does one have to mess with the timing and the pullies and all that. I thought you could just bolt the tranny up,put a pilot bearing in the crank and do the obvious(pedals, computer, mounts and such)

Well, it turns out that the motor mounts are different (mtx motor is farther to the rear of the car) and the motor mounts are attached to the brackets that mount the a/c compressor, alternator and ps pump. So, your choices are either put the mtx accessories on, or fab your own custom motor mounts.

It has been done. Shoaz fabbed up a one off in his pumpkin, but like I said previously....a lot of things are different between the 3.2 ATX and the 3.0 MTX.

The blocks are the same, but the accessory setup is different, the timing belt setup is different, the AC is different, the drivetrain sits differently in the engine bay/on the subframe, the wiring is obviously different, and that boils down to more than just unplugging the ATX...

edit: I just did some searching to help you, and realized that this has all been talked about before in your thread about a month ago: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=101308&highlight=atx+mtx

Which referenced this thread that basically gives you the down and dirty about the swap:
