O.k. I got my transmission back together and I have triple checked to make sure everything is right. I put the clutch disc on to spin the input shaft and then shifted through the gears by hand. The problem is that the dif. doesn't spin backwards in any gear. It always spins the same direction as the input shaft. Also, there are the three bolts that go in the side, one holds the reverse shaft, one is the detente plunger retainer bolt and the other keeps a round piece on the shift forks in place. What gear should you have it in to make sure that all of these go in the right place? I had a little bit of a hard time getting the third bolt listed in but I finally got them threaded in by hand. Any help is appreciated, I would rather take it apart now if I need to then after I put it back in the car. Thanks.

Are you sure you're hitting reverse? Could be you are dropping back into 4th. According to the tape the tranny should be in neutral during re assembly. I'll be trying it soon.

Thanks. I am pretty sure it is hitting all six gears but I will run down real quick and try it again. I did have it in neutral when I reassembled but I had to shift it a few times to get one of the bolts to thread in.

Yep, I was just hitting 4th. Seems to work fine. Now, does anyone know the torque spec for the bolts that hold the two halves together?
