I called Autozone on a price for motor mounts, and they told me their were only 2 mounts the front right which was $90 and then the right rear which was $70. Can someone tell me if that is true that there is only 2 mounts.

Far as I know, Autozone doesn't carry motor mounts for SHO's. They may be giving you a price for a SLO mount.

Those are SLO mounts. The only way to get SHO mounts are
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">the Ford dealers themselves.
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">our own SHO vendors such as shonut, midwest, etc.
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">buy a used one from a forum member here

There are 3 mounts that hold the SHO engine and transaxle to the subframe. There is a front and rear engine mount along with a transaxle mount. The front mount endures the most stress. Typical signs of a worn front mount are rub marks on the intake where it says "SHO." When the front mount has failed the rear mount is next in line to suffer abuse followed by the transaxle mount. If both engine mounts are worn I suggest replacing your transaxle mount. The only mounts available for SHOs are the Ford mounts or modified versions of the same mount. No aftermarket company sells these mounts.

If you plan to keep your SHO on the road for many years, check out the extreme version reinforced motor mounts found at www.shonutperformance.com . Your other option is to contact the user SHODWN on this forum. His name is Kirk and he has been reinforcing stock mounts as well. His mounts can be found on many supercharged SHOs. Both versions turn your everyday SHO into an unrefined beast. You can literally feel more power being put to the pavement. These are top-notch products sold by two great members of the SHO community.

If you would like to stick with the stock version, email the people at www.fordpartsnetwork.com and see how much they can get discount the stock Ford mounts, or visit your local Ford dealer.

Installation procedures can be found using the search function located to your upper right or at www.shotimes.com

Good luck!
