I did the motor mount check in 1st and Reverse just to satisfy my curiosity. Both times under a pretty good load the front corners (the real front where the belts are) of the engine would lift about 1 1/2 or 2 inches and then go right back down when I let off the clutch. I am thinking motor mounts, but I can't move the engine at all by hand. I would think that if they were that bad I could get some kind of movement. Also, I just had the clutch replaced a year ago and they never said anything about the mounts, but neither did they suggest replacing the rear main, and boy am I kicking myself for that one.

Anyway, if I park the car for about 20 minutes to a half hour when I come back to it it won't start for two or three tries. Most of the time if I turn the key off and then back on it will fire right up. I'm totally ignorant about electronic ignition, but from reading the posts I am thinking CID but I don't specifically remember seeing this issue. The car has a brand new fuel pump and filter, and a brand new computer. It never throws the CE light and I don't have any memory codes. It also never sputters or misses. It just won't start. To further screw my mind up it will fire up the first time when it's cold, if its only been sitting for about 10 minutes, or if its been sitting for an hour or more. It seems to only be the 20-40 minute window when it does it.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the long post.

Your front motor mounts are toast.

Your hard starting condition may be the CID sensor. It can also be caused by the motor's flexing under the bay. Wiring connections from the DIS module (and the DIS module itself) have been known to be damaged by the motor's movement.

Good luck!

The factory mounts have a LOT of flex, they are gone when your rubbing your intake on your hood pad.

if you have the time send me your mounts and 60.00 and ill reconstruct them and reinforce them. I can tell you at that time if thier salvageable and fix them if so. let mem know
