so it appears that there is a strut that goes with the front motor mount. the front motor mount on my car looks fine, but the engine will rise if we put it in gear and rev it up letting the clutch out. could the strut be bad and that is what is messed up and lettin the engine come up like that, maybe?

the engine always moves a little , but when its more then a little , check for:

-Loosed rear Subframe bolts (or failed-stripped-missing:oogle: )
-engine mounts

Dont bother with that little shock, it aint doing crap.(or mostly)

Four large bolts, one at each corner of the subframe. Can't miss them.

Yes , the big ones that holds the whole motor-trans Frame unit. Under the car , about where your feet are at when you drive (thats the rear left bolt)
