Okay, i'll keep it short and sweet.

On the way to work today i hear a loud "spring" noise, and then boom my clutch drops to the floor!

I think oh **** and cut the power.

Now i can start the car again NP, and if i give a bit of gas when going into first i can actually start moving :oogle:

More werid still once started going i can SHIFT the the car. No problems, without any clutch action.

When i got to work, slowly but i did, haveing to keep the gas on in first to get going i used my hand and lifted the pedal. Car won't start. Push it back down and she'll start.

Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the clutch cable let go, or the bolt through the TOB release fork sheared.

I know the bolt through the TOB release fork isn't the biggest out there, but how much stress could have been put on it? Have you ever even heard of one of them shearing? There's only a few things I could think of that could even cause it to shear and they are very unlikely. I'm thinking the problem is more along the lines of a cable issue or clutch quadrant problem.

Where did the "springy" noise seem to come from? Under the hood or by your feet?

if you need help with the quadrent, i have the instructions on it.. allthough it is fairly straight forward... and the part is still availible from ford....
it dose sound like the quadrent went though.. cause that is what mine did.... pedal went to the floor, but i could still start it....
