Here's my problem: when I use my right turn signal, the flasher runs fast and the light on the dash doesn't light up. The right one works when not locking it into the turn position, but as soon as you click it into position, it goes to signaling fast. The front signal lights just stay on and the rear flashes twice as fast as normal. The left turn signal works fine. I replaced ALL the bulbs and it still doesn't fix it. I just replaced the flasher relay (under the dash behind the light switch) and it still has this problem. Any ideas?? A short somewhere?? Maybe the contacts in the steering column??
Thanks,
Mike, 95 ATX

Maybe the morons who desgined the system set it up so if the trun signal indicator ( the light on the dash) doesnt work then it will act like a bulb is out. Replace that bulb.

The thing is that the light bulb in the dash does work when I don't click it into position (for lane changes). Then it doesn't light up when it does go into position. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and what fix did they have for it? I'm afraid it's the turn signal assembly on the steering column (contacts?).
Thanks for the reply,

Try replacing the circuit breaker in the fuse panel.

I checked the troubleshooting guide in the Chilton's manual and the only condition that fits your scenario is a "high resistence to ground at bulb socket (replace socket)" or "open or ground in wiring harness from front turn signal bulb socket to indicator lights (locate and repair as required)".
