OK, we got the fuel lines fixed, used a repair kit. That problem solved. So finally we got the thing together and ut took a bit to prime the fuel lines, but finally fired. Ran real rough. even after a while. I think that I have faulty plug wires. I used the ones that came with the 3.2 (original motorcraft) but after taking them off and testing them I found that 2 of them had a real low continuity reading (barely registering) so I will be changing them with the ones off of my 3.0 (another brand, not motorcraft) and see if they will work better. At least I know that they work because I took them off of my old motor. i also tested them with my multimeter and they all checked ok. Will these 3.0 wires work on the 3.2? I think that they should fit. I will wait fo a month or 2 to buy new ones because the bank account needs a bit of healing.

Now to the second problem, There is oil ******* out the side of the engine somewhere on the accessory side just above the oil pan seal somewhere near the oil pump. Anyone know what it could be? it is on the front side of the engine just down from the piece that needed to be sheared off with a die grinder. We laced it with some of the black stuff to see if this will solve the leak. If not, I may be taking this PITA apart (all of the accessories side) and see where it is coming from. It is so hard to tell because of all the crap in the way.
I know that it is hard to diagnose like this, but I could use any help or suggestions at this point. Right now I am ready to take it for a long drive off a short pier, however right now even that is not possible. I am sorry for the long post, but my frustration level is through the roof. I hope that it is worth it.

I just talked to the guy who did the oil pump, and I think that he used goop instead of a gasket. I think that this may be the problem. What gasket should be used? He did use the 3.0 oil pump. I guess that it should be the 3.0 gasket with it? Next question, how hard is it to do this gasket with the engine in the car? I guess that I am going to have to take off the entire accessories side of the car to get to it, and the oil pan.

Yeah goop on the oil pump to block surface = probably your problem.

There is a specific (now obsolete) gasket from Ford for the oil pump to block. You can take some gasket material stock and cut your own. Use the pump as a pattern.

You'll have to tear down the front of the motor to take the pump off.

Figured out the problem why the car was running like crap. Stuipd us, we put one of the cams in 180* out. Oops. Hope that it didn't mess anything else up. Fixed it.

As for the other oil issue, we are using this "gasket in a can" stuff that was highly reccomended by a lot of people. I don't exactly remember what this stuff is called, but I heard it is good stuff. Hopefully it will be up and running tomorrow and I can have the car for the weekend. I have been without my baby for almost 2 months. I think that it we finally have all of the bugs worked out.

BTW, there is a 2 little UFO shaped thingys about an inch and a half in diameter on the left hand side of the fuel rails, one with a spout on the top and one that is sealed. Does this have any vacuum lines attached to the top of the one with the spout? I don't see a place to connect it and I don't remember if it had anything connected prior to starting this. Just curious.

thanks again for all the help...getting excited!!

Yes, there should be a vacuum line going from the one with the spout to the inside of the front left part of the intake manifold.
So, if you are standing in front of the car, the vacuum line will come straight at you parallel to the crossover tube.
There should be a vacuum hose connector there that is currently open, since you haven't hooked that up. It is right beside the connector for the front plenum and crossover tube.
The 'UFO' things are the fuel pressure regulator and pulse dampener and if you don't have that hooked up, I'm guessing that will also contribute to your car not running well.

There should be a vacuum hose conected to the spout UFO on the fuel rail to the side of the intake. If it is not connected that would cause problems with your fuel system. That would also explain why it took so long to prime it.

ok, just to make things really clear, does anyone have a complete vacuum line diagram for the engine and intake? I would like to make sure that I have everything correct so that it is right the first time.
