It sounds like it has rocks in it. I went to open it up today (was close to 60), and that was what it sounded like, like it had rocks in it or something. When I went to go press the switch, it doesn't do anything until I press it a second time, it does move in both directions.

I did some troubleshooting with it, before it got really cold and nasty back last November, December time frame. I swapped the motors and it did the same thing it is doing now. I swapped relays and again, the same thing.

Which is more likely, that I have 2 bad moonroof motors, or 2 bad relays? I know the motor I replaced with, worked with no problems before. My suspicions are that it is the relay. Can the relay's even by bought new anymore?

-i would guess the motor, though i personally have never sold either one in 17 years. does the sound come from the motor or the glass moving in the tracks????

I'll just state the obvious first, just to be sure, but are the tracks clear of debris and greased? Otherwise I'm stumped.

Thanks guys. When the moonroof does open its fine, moves like it should with no hang ups. It sounds like it is coming from where the motor is. I have swapped motors, but still the same effect. Its like, 1 push on the button to open it and nothing happens, maybe I get a click, then by the second or third push, it opens, but sounds like there is grinding going on in the motor, but moves in the track fine. I also swapped relays, the same effect happens. I will check into the tracks and make 100% certain they are clear of debris and greased. Just been kinda busy lately.
