While I don't have the power of 4DRHTRD's Flex, I found using Nitto DR's on the front really helped.

At some point, the front differential and axles won't be able to handle all this torque, let alone expecting the transfer case and rear drive system to work as needed.

Yeah these were all of the same concerns the Mazdaspeed6 community had about that car when people started to make more and more power...but that car wasn't an automatic though, which means you can adjust how you launch somewhat...

I have some 17" Mustang wheels already at the house, just need to buy some slicks for the front and matching height rear tires.

yeah that sounds like a good idea, should be easy to pick those up...what year mustang did they come off of?

2010 Mustang

OK, so I found some 26x8.5x17" slicks already just need to pick up some 275/45-17 drag radial for the rear. I know, not supposed to match bias ply with radials but this will be a track only setup.
Hopefully I'll see some 11's :)

I have Hoosier DR's in 17" on my 09' G8 for the strip. They are very light ( 275-40 = 22 lbs) and hook great!

Hoosier also offers a 315-35 - 17 which weighs 26 lbs. 275's are 25.7" tall and 315's are 25.6" tall. Both can be mounted on 9"-11" wide rims.

If you go with a 245-45-17" Conti DW, they are 25.7" tall and cost $128. at TireRack. Discount tire may also have similar price. 245-40-18 are also 25.7".

Going with these smaller tires will lower your Axle ratio to about 3.56 in the Flex, which as you know has a 3.16 Axle Ratio with the stock 255-45-20 tires that are 29.0" tall.

I'm going with full slicks on the Flex and some cheap cheap rear tires. the 8.5" slick will fit easily on my Mustang wheels so almost no out of pocket for the whole thing. :)

Intake is installed, car runs again just working on the fuel lines and the auxillary injector controller.

4DRHTRD is also developing a second super secret nitrous system that will be able to either add downforce for better 1/4 mi starts, or in reverse, make his flex lighter than air, so it can actually fly. Remember all the UFO sightings south west of Phoenix!!!!!
