ok, here's my problem... when i start to take off slowly (up about 3/4 throttle) the car misses something horrible. but when i get into the secondaries it clears up and the power is great. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Had almost the exact same problem with my 1990. After replacing a whole bunch of stuff, it turned out to be a partially clogged fuel filter. I actually had to replace it twice to get the problem to go away.

There are a couple of other things you should check as well. First, pull your codes. The camshaft position sensor will also give you the same symptoms, but will not turn on the check engine light. If you need help with pulling the codes, just do a search here on that subject and you will be inundated with information on how to do it.

Also, follow the wiring around the injectors as far as you can. I found a couple of spots where the insulation had worn off of 2 of the small wires. Don't know for sure which thing fixed the problem, just wish I had replaced the fuel filter first, instead of all the other stuff.

with the fuel filter problem was it constant, every once and a while, or most of the time. b/c my problem happens most of the time but not always. it's just weird. it's doesn't happen under any certain situations and it isn't constant.

where about is the fuel filter?

The problem with mine started out to be intermittent, then it gradually began to happen more often. If yours is the same thing, it will begin to happen more and more often, eventually becoming almost a constant thing after the engine warms up.

The filter is located underneath the passenger side rear door. It is very easy to get to if you jack the car up a bit. The hard part is getting the filter out of the bracket. Just keep playing with it, until you get it in just the right position, and it will slide out.

Good luck. Hope it fixes it.
