New to Forum, I have a 1995 MTX Supercharged, just
did a 60K actual miles (83K) before I did the tuneup, I was getting an intermittent no spark on number 2 cyl, would come and go, so I did the 60 k, Cam Sensor,Crank Sensor, Pump,Timeing belt, etc. fired up the car ran like a champ. After a while then again the missing comes back. After 3-4 miles go's away. I have a spare coil pack swap out all clears after driving around check lite comes on missing again the usual no spark on a cylinder. Any ideas, plugs are new, changed wires out same thing occurs after a hour or less. Any ideas.

Try starting with the codes. That check engine light is trying to tell you something. There are links in my signature to sites with instructions on how to read them yourself with something as simple as a short piece of wire or even a paperclip.

BTW, whose S/C setup are you running, and how much boost?

Welcome to the forum! :)

Do not really know exactly who did the Mod, I got the car from a freind who was Stationed in California, I think I saw something that read Huntington Beach Calif. It is Belt driven nicely done as far as boost is concerned never had a gage installed. It is a Vortec V-1. when she hits 4 k she takes off like a rocket. I will check about engine lite.

Sounds like you need to replace the oxygen sensors based on the 136 and 172 codes.

The 217 is a failure of ignition coil #3. This means that either the DIS ground is bad our the wiring running from the DIS to the coil pack is bad. Check all the connections and make sure they are clean and free of corrosion.

Actually right now I don't have anything better to do than be on here. :D The 565 is a failure of the canister purge solenoid. It's on the driver side front of the car. It's a cylindrical tube with an electrical connector at the top at a T fitting and 2 small hoses connected to it. You should be able to order a replacement solenoid for about $35 from Autozone or the like. IIRC if you are getting codes for BOTH O2's then they are likely ok, and something else is making them trigger. Both the O2's codes are showing that your engine is running on the lean side. You are going to have to investigate further on what's causing that.

The DIS is the ignition coil unit. Check the grounds and make sure everything is tight.

The DIS is mounted of the passenger side of the intake. Grey rectangular object which should say DIS on it and has connectors on both sides.

Sweet we'd love to see it. Although you can't attach files here. You need to put them on a web site and put up a link. How big is the file? I might be able to help you out if it's not too big.
