missing in 5th gear and accelerations

94 mtx, missing when hitting the secondarys, 5th gear acceleration and between 1000 and 2000 rpm when in neutral. Feels like it just not firing on all cylinders THere is a significant amount of oil in the plug wells. Could this be the cause? Thoughts or advice are appreciated.

yes to the oil in the plug wells! you may have a cracked plug wire also!

Alot of oil will do it boss.

Also check dis, coil pack, plugs (old, gauged properly) and wires.

Oil in the plug wells will cause the plug wires to short under certain conditions, the more oil and the longer its been that way, the worse it will be. Typically, you must change the valve cover gaskets, change the plugs and wires to make it run right after this. (My red 94 is like that just now - about to order some parts to fix it.)
