missing cylinder

well i decided to clean the engine bay for spring i degreased it and kept the car running so nothing would happen (in theroy) well after i was done pressure washing it oild was coming up from aorund the spark plugs ( i think it has oil down in there and the water jsut washed it out cause it seems to stop after a while) but then when it jwas jsut idleing it wanted to stall and sometimes would, and the ilde it real lopey and seems to be missing a cylinder (one side of exhaust u can hear it ) but then driving above 1500 rpm its smooth and the performance seems to be slower :-( no check engine light comes on) so im thinking that something got wet that didnt like water and if it dries out it sohuld run fine again ... see what i get for trying to make my sho look nice

First, I'll say that pressure washing a SHO engine (or any modern engine with electronic engine controls) is a bad idea. Very bad. You wouldn't hose your computer down with water, would you? Now I will tell you that you probably have water in the spark plug wells and this is causing the misfire. You will need to remove each of the six plug boots and suck, blow, or absorb the water, and very likely oil, in the deep plug wells. Whatever you do, do not remove the spark plugs with any liquids or debris in the wells. You get that junk in the cylinders and you can say, "goodbye" to your new SHO.

i got around to taking off the wires and seeing if there was water in the wells man its crazy that it ran at all yesterday the first plug on the drivers side (front) had roughly 1-1/2inches of water/oil in it then the other in the front only had a little maybe 1/4 inch as first it didnt want to start at all then i fianlly got it to and it kept wanting to stale out so i keep it reved to aobut 3000rpm i had a lsigh popoing at first but it went away but now it runs fine jsut the idle is a little rough hopefuklky it will dry up and just go away

You might want to give it some help and vacuum or swab the moisture out. The plug wire boots could prevent a lot of water from escaping for quite a while. wink

Yeah well I read that 2 late and took out my number 6 spark plug to look at it and all the oil went down into the cylinder...and I'm hoping it didnt do any damage...but my car has been running weird lately...like it needs a tuneup...it chugs sometimes then it kicks in like nothing was wrong...usually when the car is warm....i dont know im just crossing my fingers
