Hey guys... The car seems to have a rough idle after it's warmed up. The Plugs and wires are new, the IAC is clean and so is the throttle body. No codes. Any ideas?

Hi,
I struggled a long time for intermittent ignition problems on my 93 SHO, and finally this weekend I found a bad connector at the coil, which caused intermittent hard starting, and engine miss problems. I found it out by measuring at the DIS connector(going to coil), turn on key(without starting), measure each of pins 8,9,11(pin 7 is signal ground and 12 is IDM), you should be able to measure 10V, have an asistant wiggle the wiring of the coil connector, if the viltage is intermittent, then you have a problem.
The location of these wires is right under the upper radiator hose, and sometimes resting against it, so when it heats it can move and cause intermittent ignition problem when the connector is bad(caused by heat?).
Good luck,
Chien

Tps, O2's, MAF,ACT, Coolant sensor, alt.? Sounds like maybe a sensor after the system goes from preset to sensor adjusted conditions?

Oil in the Plug wells cause the same thing for me, High End miss that came down to hard idle and then no idle till it was warm. Wrecked my Motorcraft plugwires. Hopfully I'll be able to get it all fixed this week for the meet we have here :) But damn 130 bucks for pretty IPT wires and 120 bucks for gaskets from SHOnut. Before I even start pulling things apart being down 250 sucks wink

The Motorcraft WR-4033 wires fit both the 3.0L and the 3.2L and can be had from FordPartsNetwork.com for $83.99 and the gaskets can also be had cheaper. The valve cover and plug well seals are $71.99 from AutoZone.com and the two intake to head gaskets are only $12.49 each from the same source.

What plugs and wires did you install? It does sound like the closed loop mode is allowing a faulty sensor to confuse the EEC.
