Was fighting through a misfire check engine light for cylinder 4. Coils, plugs, wires.... Nothing worked. Gave up and took it to the shop. Getting confirmation today but looking like I need an engine. Anyone else have something similar? 2015 with 60,200 miles.

Can you post back with what the shop says is wrong? No compression?

I had a similar thing happen at 75K on my 2016 SHO. Thankfully I had a lifetime power train warranty through the dealership I bought it new from, cost was $13K, warranty company paid all but $1K.

Well, was all going well till the inspector wanted to check the injector. Of course the OHM showed short so they want to deny the claim as a bad injector causing the engine failure and injectors aren't covered. Play you pay.... Anyone got a good hookup for engines? I am in metro Detroit so shouldn't be to hard, just expensive.

How spirited is your driving? Original owner? Frequent oil changes?

I have a 2015 with just under 50K miles on it. This thread has me concerned about what the odds are it will happen to mine.

Odds are fairly low. I have over 200k on my 2013. Granted, most of that was highway miles. She's retired to DD now around town. Occasional wide open throttle just because they need it. Regular oil changes. And she's still sporting all original components. Knock on wood lol.

I am not going to name anyone or anything but I was working through some what I felt were serious issues with a tune and this happened. Take care of those injectors as that is what I know to have caused the issue. I drive what I consider normal. LOL... Lightly spirited at times. On ramps, off ramps that sort of thing. Never raced or tracked that is for sure. Full history on Carfax all dealership maintenance work done at proper intervals, I am second owner.

That’s rotten, any way possible to scam their way out of paying up. You need a defense attorney mechanic. Maybe the smoked ring fouled the injector. How do you like that, Inspector!?

Yes that is what they finally said. There is way more than one way for the injector to go bad. The one thing against me was the fact that all everything going into that cyl. was super clean and the other 2 on that side were full of gunk. Just tells them that the fuel injector was dumping fuel adn cleaned all that up. LOL... All good. New motor, HPFP, MRT axel back and a sweet GH tune will due the trick.

The Ford DI injectors are known to fail because of low high pressure fuel pump pressure. We see it with E30 tunes and cold weather.

Well back from shop with new motor. Something just feels odd with the car though. I don’t know if it is the new motor
Mounts but I feel torque steer getting on the gas and letting off. Also does not feel any where near as quick!!
