Hi
I am driving Bizzys car to michigan and taking my wife and due to her numerous heart attacks air conditioning is a must.the air is working but as soon as you turn it on it switches from vent to drfrost or floor .it was 95 degrees today and we were roasting in the car.is there a quick fix anyone knows of? if not I will have to fly her out and brave the heat myself and really I do not need that expense .I am sure there must be a way to keep it in vent mode but do not know where to start...thanks

I have a simular problem. The vacumn motor just can hold the flap closed to the defrost so the air will come out the vents. You have to pull the dash out to get to the motor. Maybe there is some way to wedge the door open.

Could be a hole in the vacuum line. Mine had a hole where it comes through the firewall and makes a bend (on the engine side, right where the heater core hoses go in). Something to check anyway.

FIXED

Well sort of beind the glove box just to the left also out of sight .I found a door that was not connected to a spring or vacume motor but would swing easily and when I opened it it sent all the ac to the vents.Bizzy will have to have this looked into further but for now there is air.only took me all day too find but oh well I had to diagnose a bunch of other stuff first and just stumbled onto this solution.
