My brake lights do not light up when I brake. They only work when I press fairly ******* the brake pedal. What could be causing this?

This happened on mine and one of the wires on the brake switch had come loose. I took apart the end connector and re-sodered the wire. Put it back together and now it works fine.

Mine would do the same thing. Press lightly on the pedal and no brakes. A little harder and then the lights would come on. Weird. But it was just the way the wire was touching.

Don't know if this is your problems but the switch is the first place to start.

The same thing had happened to me last summer, brake lights not working unless you pushed the pedal hard to the floor?! Turns out it was an easy fix since a wire had broke on the brake switch! thumb
