I just purchased a 1994 SHO with a few mods, runs excellent doesn't burn anything. Just started to leak a little bit of oil, nothing major. Very quick car. The SHO is unlike any other car I have seen and I love it and wanted to know how long a timing belt lasts in these cars or how long until you break something after your 60K tuneup was done? The car was taken care of meticulously by an engineer was original owner...Amsoil synthetic since 2700miles. He did the water pump and timing belt and everything on time, but I am wondering how many miles after that service until I worry about something breaking?

over 60K your on borrowed time, I would say you could go 80K-100K, but it depends on driving and climate.

I've got 190,000 miles and only fix things when they break. Maybe not the wisest of choices, but no less a testament.

The family '93 ATX has only had things fixed when they break. Its got just under 150K on original timing belt, water pump, cps, and shim adjustment. Those all will be replaced within a year because the cam seals are leaking like crazy. But the car has been garaged and nicely driven. Like rangerj said, if you beat it will break. On a side note with stock cams the v6 SHO engine is a non-interference engine so even if you do break the timing belt the engine will survive.
