I'm havin' my new tranny put in next week. Is there anything I should have done while the engine is out? I don't have much money to spend right now but if theres something that might save me from big hassels down the road I'd like to get it done. How hard would it be to have them replace my battery cables while they have it out??

How many miles?

I would consider having a few things replaced. And since you are pulling the motor the firstt one that comes to mind is the rear main seal. shrug

It's got 177K on it. It's always had regular maintenance and runs like a dream.

What's the price for the seal and what's labor on that gonna be about??

The seal is like $20 or so. The labor shouldn't be too bad since the engine is already out. Much cheaper to do it now than later.
