Maf

How long can i run without a maf before i mess something up. i have one but it will be a week before i can get it i have to work. so any info will help thanks.

i wouldent drive on it at all like that.you'll throw off the A/F mixture.
its going to stall randomly and give you a hard time when you try to refire it.
why dont you just get one from a junkyard,shouldent be more than $30.00.

i have spares but cant get to them till the weekend. stalling, hasnt happened yet. only thing i have seen so far is a boost in performance and iratic idle. if thats all ima get im not going to rush to get one off my parts car till the weekend. thanks though.

so is there a MAF on the car at all,or did you just straight pipe it to the TB?
im curious about the boost in performance....

its running straight to my tb. the car is running rich but its running. what i meant in boost is there is no more hesitation in. when i hit the gas she gets the **** on fast. it hasnt drove this well since i owned it.

While you may be able to drive you car without a MAF for a period of time, I wouldn't recommend doing so for any longer than you have to. Running the engine with a disconnected MAF sensor will force the EEC to default to a set of diagnostic (or "limp mode") tables for it's air charge and engine load calculations. Since these tables are programmed to err on the side of extreme richness at all throttle positions and engine loads under factory trim, you run the risk of damaging your cats, fouling your spark plugs and damaging other emission system components by running your engine without a MAF sensor for extended periods.
