Since I had this past Friday & Saturday off I started by giving her a much needed bath. I pulled it in the garage to apply the spray wax from Griots Garage. Don't do it on dry paint
That's some good stuff! I wanted to paint the 3 SHO logos on the car, do I need to say the locations
I thought I could get everything at Walmart, but it seems they stopped selling spray paint. I did get the adhesion promoter. Next stop, Advance Auto Parts for a 5 oz. can of Radiant Silver Metallic paint. Basically, a shot in the dark. Working the GREEN paint on a 94 I wanted something that would look good.
All I can say is this was major pain in the A$$ to do along with back pain for an extra day. I did in 2 sections for each logo. I used that blue painters tape and newspaper for overspray. I couldn't get a piece straight enough down the middle so I applied 2 coats of promoter and 3 coats of paint to each. 7-8 hours later, I finished. I am glad I did. Looks a **** of alot better than the green.
Next, was to troubleshoot my distorted JBL Bass Problem...I started by removing the stock deck. Nothing weird there other than 13 years of dust
I may have did something because the tape deck now works!!!
That's awesome for me, I have like 500 tapes. Remember I'm an 80's child. Gotta love the 80's. Ok, moving on. For some I thought it was necessary to remove the back seat to access the 2 dreaded sub bolts. Guess not. Always interesting to see whats lurking in the back seat of a used car. I just found some sand, a ring and A&W Rootbeer coupon.
I got the Sub box down with a couple swings from a mallet. I discovered the Factory sub was junk!!! The foam was all ripped. Anybody need a JBL box, because mine is going in the trash. I hooked up a Kenwood 8" sub in a sealed box I had. Glad that's fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now for the power antenna.....That thing can stay in the up position for the next 10 years:laugh_ti:
That's all from the Big City
