LPM Tune

I have a bone stock ATX and im getting the LPM tune. a few questions though: 1. When I get it what is necesary to install it, or how do I install it? 2. Will i notice a difference in the performance?:braincramp:

You connect the LPM to the maintenance port on the computer. You need to make sure that the edge connector is clean by using a swab and rubbing alcohol. You plug in the LPM in that port. Normally the LPM will have a more aggressive ignition timing which will make the engine more responsive to throttle inputs, but will make the engine less tolerant to low octane fuel. For the ATX, shift points can be increased. RPM limit can be changed. For best results, you should tune the LPM on a dyno.

Do you know what it was originally tuned for? Depend on that you may need to contact sho source about getting a new tune on it for your sho.

Ok great. And where is the maintenance port? How do I get to it and is it an easy plugin?

Open the glove box all the way. Look in, and you'll see a connector on a silver box. Reach back there, plug it in, and then put some packing tape on it to hold it on. After that, disconnect the negative terminal to your battery for about 30 seconds with your lights on, and then reconnect. Start up car, enjoy. On a stock ATX, I wouldn't be hoping for anything earth shattering.

You should pull the ECU out of the car to properly clean the service port like Bob noted.
