Recently I had to fill up my recovery resevoir due to the low coolant light. I checked it a week later and the resevoir looked half empty. Is this a problem? I've been looking on Shotimes.com and they mention that filling the coolant system is a bit of a chore, requiring the air within the system to escape. Is that what my problem is? Do I only have to wait and keep adding fluid to fill it up completely?

Next time the engine is cold take the radiator cap off. It should be completely full. If it isn't then top it off here. Then check it after the next heat/cool cycle. If it still isn't full then you have a leak somewhere or a bad radiator cap.

As long as the cooling system is 100% free of leaks, the radiator cap is proven good (tested free at AutoZone) and there is coolant in the overflow bottle the cooling system will purge itself of air and keep itself full of coolant.
