I have a 92 MTX that needs an alignment. When I'm driving above 30 MPH there's a loud humming noise which seems to be coming from the left side of the car but if I turn the wheel to the right a little (like switching lanes on the highway) it goes away (turning the wheel left does nothing). I had the wheels off when I was changing the pads the other other day and I checked to see if the wheel bearings might be bad but they seem okay it does move at all. The axles look fine and visually everything else looks fine. Does anyone know what this might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!:hail: :thumb:

No, I don't think it would be the rear because when I move the wheel to the right it goes away even if I turn the wheel to the right quickly then back it goes away... I might as well check the back but I was wondering what else in the front it could be?

it sounds like a wheel bearing..
so does it do it constantly while driving straight? well, until you turn right?

could also be a sticky caliper... does the car feel down on power?

After about 30 MPH you'll hear when you drive straight (it gets louder the faster you drive) until you turn right but then going staright it comes back.. It a loud humming noise (kind of like driving with REALLY low air pressure in your tires) when the car was in the air I tried to move the tire left and right and wiggle it around but there was no play at all. I had previously replaced weel bearings in a 93 SHO I had and before I changed them I could move the wheel around. When I hit bumps my suspension still feels stiff no bump steer at all (Stock suspension)

Sounds like wheel bearings to me. My 94 exhibits the same exact symptoms. Could be your tires as wheel, but i'm pretty sure it's your wheel bearings. Try rotating your tires to see if it helps any, at all.
